The Diamond Way Buddhist Center of Prague invites all expatriots and English speaking friends for an introduction lecture into Buddhism...Diamond Way Buddhism in the Czech Republic: With the spread of Vajrayana Buddhism beyond Tibet over the last fifty years, numerous Karma Kagyu Dharma centers have been founded all over the world, under the inspiration of His Holiness the Sixteenth Gyalwa Karmapa, Ranjung Rigpe Dorje. His aim was to make the complete teachings of the Buddha available all over the world and independent of any state, religion or political institutions.
The Kagyu Lineage is one of the four major Lineages of Vajrayana Buddhism in Tibet. Its main branch, and the largest, is the Karma Kagyu, which has been guided over eight hundred years by the successive incarnations of its Supreme Head, the Glorious Karmapa.
This Web Site pertains to the 35 Czech Karma Kagyu Centers, their projects and events in the Czech Republic. Together with more than 450 lay Buddhist centers of the Karma Kagyu tradition in the Western world, these centers are under the spiritual guidance of H.H. 17. Gyalwa Karmapa Thaye Dorje and were founded by lama Ole Nydahl . Worldwide, the centers are visited by several thousands of Dharma students every week, which makes this one of the largest Dharma groups in the West.
These groups have a democratic structure and function through unpaid, voluntary work on the basis of idealism and friendship. The members share the responsibility for guiding meditations, answering questions and giving teachings.
The Diamond Way opens the most skillful methods of the Buddha to the modern world. It helps us discover and develop our inner richness for the benefit of all beings as well as ourselves. More information about the inspireing teachings of the Diamond Way Buddhism at www.diamondway-buddhism.org.
